Born and raised in Zeeland, I grew up hearing stories about the flood disaster of 1953. As a child, I spent many sunny days on the beach, playing at the tide line and in the sand. These memories are significant to me—not just of Zeeland, but of the 1953 event and Zeeland’s cultural heritage, including the regional dress. But what if the water were to rise again today? How would we survive a flood? What would happen to Zeeland’s heritage? Memories might remain, but the tangible aspects would vanish. And do we really know what to do when the water comes?

What if the water is coming? How will we respond, and what will happen to our belongings? What do we do with our heritage and memories? Do we let them go, lost to the rising waters? Or do we strive to keep our memories intact? Everyone has a past, and where you come from has a profound impact on your life and memories. It’s something that can be both hated and loved.
For me, my roots are a source of love, and that love is deeply connected to the regional costume of Zeeland, a region in the Netherlands. I cherish the memories of playing on the beach with my grandmother and her friend, who always wore the traditional Zeeland costumes.

Everyone has their own ideals, ambitions, and interests, which makes each person unique. So why cling to outdated habits and associations when you can express yourself freely?
Dress the way you want and let go of what others think. Attach. emphasizes natural dyeing, recycling, and promoting an ‘ageless society.’ Unlike typical streetwear, Attach. creates new materials by combining second-hand clothing with natural dyes, resulting in a mix of bold and extreme color combinations.

Imagine a journey into a realm of psychedelic thinking—a space where distortion, color, and patterns converge in ways that defy ordinary perception. In this state, prints and images seem to come alive, morphing and shifting until clarity dissolves entirely.
This experience mirrors the vibrant, mind-bending visuals inspired by the 1960s, reinterpreted through a modern lens. As the patterns merge, they create a complementary contrast that amplifies the psychedelic effect, drawing you deeper into a surreal, almost dreamlike world. The boundaries between reality and illusion blur, leaving you immersed in a vivid, ever-changing tapestry of sights and sensations.

The concept of Unmute is inspired by the profound influence of words as seen through figures like Amy Winehouse and Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela stood firm for his beliefs, regardless of the consequences, while Amy Winehouse channeled her emotions and thoughts through her music.
Unmute offers the wearer a unique way to express themselves in a language only they can fully understand. The brand seeks to highlight that sound can be experienced in more ways than just being heard. By incorporating the phenomenon of synesthesia, Unmute gives sound a multi-dimensional presence.
Synesthesia, the blending of senses—such as seeing sound or hearing color—serves as the foundation for Unmute’s creations. We are crafting a new visual language by translating sound into color and design. Through this approach, not only words but also the sounds of everyday life become tools for expressing individuality in our designs.
